Send a Viber campaign

You can create personalized Viber campaigns to notify subscribers about recent updates or promotions.

You can also integrate SendPulse’s Viber campaign service with your website to send event-triggered messages, for example, order confirmation or registration notifications. To send transactional or triggered Viber campaigns, we recommend using the Create a Viber Campaign API method.

Go to the Email section, and click Send Viber.

Select a sender

Select a sender name using which you will send your campaign.

Select a message type

Choose a message type based on your campaign goal:

System Used for transactions (balance status, accrual, debits) and notifications (order confirmation, delivery, bonus updates).

You can enter text only and must use a pre-approved template.

Promotional Used for promotional campaigns. You can add text, images, and buttons.
Text + Carousel Used for promotional campaigns with multiple offers. You can add text and up to 5 cards with images and buttons for recipients to swipe through in Viber.
Survey Used for quick polls and feedback. You can ask a question in the subject field, offer predefined answers as survey options, and track responses in campaign statistics.

Select your recipients

Add recipients’ phone numbers in the international format manually, or select a subscriber list.

You can also exclude recipients. In Additional options, select the Exclude recipients checkbox. Select a mailing list, or enter specific phone numbers from a mailing list you want to exclude from your campaign.

If your mailing lists share certain contacts, you can select mailing list A as your recipient and exclude phone numbers from mailing list B. This way, your campaign will target mailing list A contacts that are not included in mailing list B.

Add your message content

Available elements vary based on your selected message type.

System

You can add only text elements to preapproved templates.

Select a message template. Replace default values {{var}} with your variable names. Insert characters to separate phrases.

Promotional

Use this message type for promotional campaigns.

To send a text message, under Message, select Text. Enter your message of up to 1,000 characters. You can also use Unicode characters.

To format text, select it and click the formatting icon. To add an emoji, click the emoji icon.

If you’ve selected a mailing list, you can personalize your message using variables.

To send an image in your message, under Message, select Image. Upload a square image sized at up to 500 KB. Recommended resolution is 200 × 200 pixels.

Optionally, you can add a button. Select Call-to-action button and configure the button fields:

Action Select URL to open a link or TEL to call a phone number.
Text Enter a button label of up to 19 characters.
URL Add the link users will be directed to.
TEL Add the phone number users will call.

Use this message type to combine text with a swipeable set of cards. Each card contains an image, a title, and button links. You can add up to 5 cards.

In the Message section, enter your message text of up to 1,000 characters. You can also use Unicode characters.

If you’ve selected a mailing list, you can personalize your message using variables.

In the Cards section, click Add card. Go to the card editor and configure the card fields:

Upload a square image sized at up to 500 KB. Recommended resolution is 200 × 200 pixels.

Title

Enter a caption of up to 38 characters.

Main button

Enter a button label of up to 10 characters and a link.

Add an additional button

Adds a second button.

Enter a button label of up to 10 characters and a link.

Survey

Use this message type to ask a question and offer predefined responses. Recipients select an option in Viber, and SendPulse records the selection in your campaign statistics.

Configure the survey fields:

Subject

Enter a survey subject of up to 85 characters.

If you’ve selected a mailing list, you can personalize your message using variables.

Survey options

Enter response options.

Add an option

Add an extra response option.

Campaign statistics store only the first option a recipient selects. If the recipient selects another option later, the system ignores it.

Set your message lifespan

Select a message lifespan — the period during which the system will attempt to deliver your message to subscribers who were unavailable at the time of sending. The minimum value is one minute, and the maximum value is 24 hours.

You can also enable the Resend via SMS option. If your message remains undelivered after its lifespan expires, an SMS campaign will be sent. Select an SMS sender name, and enter your message text.

Select your campaign sending time

You can send your campaign immediately or schedule it for later.

Set up throttling

You can send your campaign immediately to all subscribers or in parts over the selected number of hours.

We recommend sending your campaign gradually if it has a large subscriber base. This way, you will reduce your employees’ workload if they need to process message replies.

Preview and send your message

To preview your message, click the preview icon.

If your message is displayed correctly, click Send.

Debiting from the Viber balance occurs upon sending a message. If the message is not delivered, the money will be returned within 24 hours.
